We spent most of yesterday at a worship seminar for the King of Kings worship team. It really seems to me that God is stressing two things in Jerusalem right now: worship and community. We are having more and more intense times of worship at our thrice-weekly devotions at the Embassy and at King of Kings - worship that is more free, breaking the constraints we usually put on it, and with a very real sense of God’s presence. Community-wise, we can feel the way that He is knitting believers together all over the city. We’ve begun a weekly “community night” at King of Kings, the believers in our neighborhood are getting together to pray for one another, and several groups are forming in our workplace to minister to one another. I don’t know where this is going, but I get the feeling that we here in Jerusalem are very soon going to need one another and a sense of God’s presence at a level heretofore unreached.
Overall it feels like we are at the source of a gigantic wave; we can feel the power of the water moving beneath us, and we know it is going to crest in the near future. It’s going to be a powerful thing.
