more than ever hour after hour

The Covenant tour 2005 is over. It was a smashing success and a joy to participate in. All told we performed for over 15,000 people in 4 different cities. Go right now to our photo gallery and check out the pictures. I must take this opportunity to brag on my husband. Who would have guessed that Franklin would turn out to be such a great actor? I mean really, he has many talents, but acting? If you took my advice and went to the photo gallery, you can already see that how great he looks. He’s just the tops.

And another thing - I forgot to mention it in my last post, but Franklin has begun taking lessons from Israel’s only luthier (luthier = guy who makes wooden instruments, in this case, guitars). Thats right - Franklin is learning how to make guitars (this is just conjecture, but I think that Franklin may be doing this because he promised (unprompted) when he bought his Taylor this summer that he wouldn’t buy another guitar for 5 years. I think he sees building guitars for himself as some sort of loophole). Anyway, he’s loving the classes, and in 9 months he’ll be certified to repair and build guitars in Israel, the US and the UK. I can’t wait to see where this leads.

Anyway, thats just a short update. Now that the Covenant is over, I hope to return to a more frequent (i.e. weekly) updating schedule - stay tuned!

ורות ירדה אל הגורן

I realize that another installment of Linker News is long overdue - here’s what we’ve been up to:

Obed TourMom came at the end of February with another Obed Project tour. We had a wonderful time touring around the land (Franklin and I were able to participate in part of the tour as well), and then spent a day doing service projects. Part of the group painted gates at a local hospital, and the other part of the group did some much needed gardening on the Embassy compound.

The CovenantShortly after the tour left, we went full swing into Covenant mode. For those of you who don’t know about The Covenant, here’s the short version: for the past few years we have been touring with a musical written by friends of ours and translated into Hebrew by Israel’s top lyricist. It recounts the story of the people of Israel from the time of Abraham to today - emphasizing God’s faithfulness to fulfill His promises to His people. The musical has been extremely successful, finding favor especially with Israel’s ministry of education. This tour we are performing for many school children and elderly groups in addition to those performances open to the public. Right now it looks like we’ll be performing for over 15,000 people this year. Franklin has taken on more of an acting and singing role - he has several speaking parts. He’s clearly on his way to stardom! This year I have opted to be in the technical team, which I greatly prefer to being on stage. I am working mostly with the lighting, and I’m really enjoying it.

Meanwhile, Mom is still here - with another Obed Project tour! They are currently in the Galilee, and I hear that things are going well.
